Villajoyosa is one of the many popular tourist spots in Spain. The meaning of the name Villajoyosa means “Jewelled Town.” Here the houses of the fishermen along the coast are painted with vibrant colors of Blue, Red, Green etc. It is more of a bright concrete garden. The houses were painted in different colors so that the fishermen could easily identify their houses from the sea.

Colored houses are not the only specialty of Villajoyosa. Those who have a sweet tooth are in for a treat here as the town is known for its gourmet chocolates. Don Valeriano López Lloret started the business of chocolate back in 1881. Till today the family has held on to the business. Even though they use state of the art techniques for the chocolate production, but the recipes are still the ones that were used back in the days when the business started. While you are in Villajoyosa, make sure you take tour of the chocolate factory enjoying the extraordinary delectable chocolates. Heaven cannot get any better than this.

Villajoyosa once used to be a fishing village. Over the years things have changed around, but the fishing tradition still remains. Here you would find a harbor and during the afternoon the local fish market is packed with customers buying fresh fish.

Not far away from Villajoyosa is Benidorm, another popular attraction for the tourists. The main tourist attraction of Benidors is the amazing theme parks. Terra Mitica is divided in several parts, each part represents the aspects of the various ancient civilizations. For those who are fond of wild life and exotic animals, Terra Natura is the place. There you would find wild animal roaming around freely.

For a big splash, visit the villas mallorca Aqualandia water park. The theme park is divided into several parts, each has unique features. First of all there is the Funnyland. This part of the park has been influenced by various comics. Young children would love the Funnyland. And no need to worry for the ones who live for the thrill as the park has something for the adrenaline junkies. In the midst of the tropical forest you will find the Spacemaker, which is the highest slide on earth. It is 42 meter high and has a 60 degree slope. But that is no all, there is also a tower for Bungee jumping that is 60 meter tall, making it the tallest Bungee Jumping tower in Europe.
